The development server is back up (as of yesterday), but we're still restoring data and so we haven't started loading yet. After 10 days (and counting) without loading, we'll probably be loading for quite awhile once we start loading again. Luckily, we should be loading again soon.

Hey Laurie - does this mean that we are just not able to upload still. Is there another way to upload or do you just want us to hang tight until you guys are able to resolve this issue?

Thanks for your help,

Comment on SAN Update by laurien

Both UFDC and dLOC are now up! Here are notes in case this ever happens again (and hopefully it won't).

dLOC
First, set a a virtual directory for the dLOC folder, and then follow the directions on this Microsoft support page.

UFDC
We need to ensure that .NET framework 2.0 is installed.
For the UFDC virtual directory, go to Properties and pick .NET 2.0.
It used to reside in its own application pool, and it still may have to. You can't have two applications running different versions of .NET in the same application pool.
Also, we need to ensure anonymous access access is set correctly for UFDC. Click on the Directory Security in the properties window. Click on the top button, and ensure there is some specific name in the anonymous access. Should be like 'usernamefordatabase' with the correct username for accessing the database.
Then, this user needs access to the design, data, and script subfolders.
You may just need to restart the application pool, if all these settings seem correct.

Mark emailed that EPC is up and that it looks like ASP.net 1.1 is probably running based on that, but the old ASP stuff is broken along with the ASP.net 2.0 stuff, which powers UFDC. Winston is likely to know more and so might Mark, but they're both out sick, so maybe we'll know more soon.

The copibook switch is an unmanaged switch so he’ll have to put monitoring inline between the scanners and the storage PC. He's gathering supplies currently and will come up after lunch to setup a laptop to act as the monitor for a few days.

Mark replied: Actually, I was thinking something a bit more radical.

See the working search boxes in the link below. This is just cut and pasting HTML from the new UFDC version.
