Welcome to the InfoCommons@West!
The InfoCommons @ West is located on the 3rd floor of Smathers Library West at the University of Florida.
It was designed to foster collaborative learning in a creative environment while matching patron needs with the latest resources and technologies. That mouthful means we’ve got approxmiately 150 computers available for research, communication, learning, design, and play, ample space throughout Library West for group and individual study, special rooms for media production (web, video, animation, & graphic design), laptops for checkout (2nd floor desk), private group study rooms, and a dedicated “quiet study” floor on the fourth floor. We even have a Starbucks located downstairs on the the first floor.
We assembled this blog to advertise events in the InfoCommons as well as to inform you of helpful information and services available to you as a patron of Library West. We’ll also post occasional links to articles and sites about technology and library related trends, gadgets, software, and services that might be useful to your research. We’ll also post a few fun things here too- because c’mon, what is good is life without a little fun??? ;D
